The description of the tasks and responsibilities for the position were advertised here.

Phil Longwell was elected unopposed and we are pleased to welcome him as an accomplished colleague who has much to contribute to the SIG. Many of you will be aware that Phil has been working hard on the LTSIG sub-committee over the last six months or so. His Edtech & publishing knowledge, drive & initiative, together with excellent communication skills, are just what our content team needs to keep the LT SIG flowing with news, updates and content creation.

Invitations to apply, including the nomination form, were sent out to all members by email on 6 December and needed to be completed and returned to sophia@ltsig.org.uk by no later than 12 December.

When there is more than one applicant, the procedure is for statements by the candidates to be posted on the IATEFL LTSIG website. Electronic elections  then take place through online voting administered by IATEFL .

On behalf of the committee and the IATEFL community at large, we would like to welcome Phil on board and wish him a creative tenure.

We have embedded Phil’s statement of purpose below to showcase his strong application and express our confidence in moving forward with such an enthusiastic and conscientious new team member.
